watching 3d videoDevelopment of gadgets on the market today has start to enter 3D technology. This innovation does give users a new experience, but a study revealed that 3D video has a tendency to cause extra eyes strain.

According to the Journal of Vision study, a 3D video can trigger an uncomfortable view, make the eyes strain, and even cause headaches.

Because the users are required to focus on the 3D image on the screen simultaneously and must adjust the depth of the screen and the image.

"When watching a 3D image, the eyes should be focused to accommodate the depth of the screen because that's where the light originated. At the same time, the eye must adjust to the image," explains the report's author, Martin S. Banks, professor of optometry and vision science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Researchers reports that this study are still doing research on a small scale, ie by the respondents amounted to 24 adults. While the gadgets are used ranging from smartphones to the desktop displays.

"The discomfort associated with the 3D video is a major problem which may limit the use of technology," said Banks.

"We hope that our findings will inspire further research related to this issue," he added, quoted from Cellular News, Monday (25/07/2011).
